Ganderbal, 11 Sep: Marking the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), the Government Degree College (GDC) Ganderbal reverberated with soulful recitations and thought-provoking deliberations as the Departments of Islamic Studies, Urdu, and Kashmiri jointly organized a Debate and Naat Competition. The event sought to celebrate spiritual heritage, ignite intellectual reflection, and reaffirm the timeless relevance of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) teachings.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Tauseef Ahmad Parray reminded the audience that “in a world desperately searching for meaning, the Prophet’s message of mercy continues to offer humanity a way forward.” The Principal, in her address, emphasized that the Prophet (PBUH) remains an enduring source of inspiration in the modern age.

The Naat competition featured ten participants whose heartfelt recitations moved the audience. The jury—comprising Prof. Mujeeb A. The debate competition, on the theme “The Prophet’s (PBUH) Timeless Teachings: A Source of Inspiration for Today’s World,” brought six articulate voices to the fore, each engaging with a different dimension of the Prophet’s message. The jury panel—Dr. Sameera Siraj (Zoology), Dr. Tauseef Ahmad Parray (Islamic Studies), Dr. Jamsheeda Akhter (Urdu), and Dr. Haneef Ahmad Kumar (Education)—awarded the first three positions to Zubair Hassan Dar (3rd Semester), Muhammad Shadab (1st Semester), and Beigh Mehraj Gul (1st Semester).
