Srinagar, Mar 26 (KNO): A young girl from historical Charar-i-Sharif area has been using her pen to express her emotions in both prose and poetry.

Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Aroosa Ashraf, who writes under pen name “Arusa” said that she got her soul attached to paper and spends most of her leisure time in this thing as according to her, “Pen is the ultimate solution for every kind of situation but when carried and balanced properly with a voice”

Aroosa said that she mainly writes poems in free verse and in Author she has been highly inspired by none but her own struggling life.

Unlike most traditional authors, Aroosa’s interpretation of human sufferings is more than genuine and not so hard to get drowned into.

She depicts love, loss, separation and divine power and though having an extraordinary hold in different forms of writings, she has been writing doleful poems and short stories in both English and Urdu while her latest work is: The Fifth Chamber of Heart.

Aroosa claimed that she started writing at her tender age of 11, though the subjects of her writing have always been way beyond her age and as a young poet she has a belief that nature can heal every person better with broken hearts.

“As far my writing is concerned, it started with my degrading mental health and I usually term it as the gift of my worst mental health,” she said.

“Anxiety and depression (very common issues in teenagers) which is nowadays major cause of suicides, I utilised it as fuel to my pen,” she said.

“I always feel that when you begin to write till your pen breaths it’s last breath there are number of evolutions in one’s writing, same happened with me at the beginning my writing depicted melancholy then it was romance and nowadays it’s resistance, so I never felt a specific gender in my poetry but I have indeed heard from people that my poetry reflects melancholy,” Aroosa said.

“My message in writing is to open up but just to yourself and express your emotions, never let them overtake your life,” she said.

“Don’t look yourself down at least put a step forward and see the world cheering you up, there will be hurdles but you need to feel and get through the struggles in order to taste the success,” she said in her message to budding writers, while adding that, “I think if somebody has even tried to write a sentence, it depicts a situation, it depicts some episodes, and it contains a story that he/she is trying to share with the world”.

“Not everyone is born Shakespeare one needs to go through that path and this might be a beginning to it,” she added—(KNO)
